We tailor our respite stays to each person’s individual needs
Being a full-time carer is a very demanding role. Respite breaks are an opportunity for carers to take a holiday or simply spend some time looking after their own needs, safe in the knowledge that their loved one is receiving the very best care. Sometimes respite becomes a necessity after a family emergency we ensure that our trained respite carers can offer the individual adult comfort during their stay.
We tailor our respite stays to each person’s individual needs and our nursing staff and carers have specialist expertise in supporting older people who have Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia, physical disabilities or restricted mobility, and conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease and Multiple Sclerosis. Respite stays can last for just a few days or as long as needed. Respite stays can be a place to stay until a permanent place in supported living or a residential home becomes a possibility.
We assess your loved ones needs and create a care plan
We understand that it’s the personal details that make a difference. We make an assessment on all our respite clients before they arrive, so we can be sure that they receive any special requirements from the beginning of their stay. Each respite client has a personal care plan that takes into account their support needs, interests, likes and dislikes, and daily routines.
An avenue to independence during respite stays
Every respite client has their own bedroom, which they can personalise with photographs and personal items from home to help create a familiar environment. Friends and familes are welcome to visit at any time during their respite stay. We provide an avenue to independence through person centred strategies and outcomes during respite stays. We provide assistance where needed for daily tasks and offer ideas to make life more comfortable for individuals and their families once the individuals return to their homes.
